Liquid life (Series)

$0.00

Water is an ecological substance that humans cannot live without.  Although much of the ocean remains unexplored and unmapped, no areas have escaped becoming a receptacle as waste memorials of human output.

The work portrays the slow yet inevitable perils of rising waters; already submerging cities around the world as floodwaters of humanity’s own making.  A consciousness of how humanities growing trends, consumerism, waste and institutions may ultimately lead to their own dissolution.

Modern life is organized around rapidly changing trends, consumption, and waste.  Philosopher Zygmunt Bauman advocates change is the only permanence within our Liquid Modern society.  It is difficult not to link these accumulative anthropogenic impacts to environmental shifts in climatic zones and rising ocean levels.
