Take time to smell the roses

$0.00

Characterizing a sectional pie graph, the work conveys the importance of ‘time’ for ourselves in our frequently complex and busy lives.  Aspects between personal and work are represented within the soft forms of cast roses, graduating colour, bubbles, veiling and strong linear lines within the glass structure.

Refracted light and shadow within the glass highlight the influences of the computer age on our lives, theoretically making life easier but often directly replacing our personal time.

Often forgotten is the importance of maintaining time for ourselves with the solidness of the glass suggesting the strength required to achieve it.  The work conveys a gentle reminder to take time to smell the flowers.

2009, Kiln Cast Bullseye Glass, Silver Leaf, Cold worked and Polished.  H x 35, W x 20, D x 20cm.
